You will attend all shop meetings and university-sponsored safety and security training sessions and provide backup operations support during times of high demand. Among other duties, you will also report all concerns and repair needs for the shop equipment, perform light-duty maintenance and thorough cleaning of the shop equipment and spaces, and be prepared to render first aid for minor incidents.The shop technician also participates in special projects, and events as needed, including collaborations with the SCAD School of Film and Acting production team to support practicum and work-study students as they implement design elements and stagecraft for all productions.The successful candidate possesses strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic academic environment. Job Duties:
The program coordinator is responsible for the day to day operations of the Automotive Technology program and works collaboratively with the Dean, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Vice President of Student Affairs and the President. The program coordinator assists in the planning and effectiveness evaluation, development, and implementation of program goals. The program coordinator is a key individual in the program institutional effectiveness program. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of classes in the Automotive Technology related fields and will coordinate with other instructors and lab support staff to assure the success of the students. Additional faculty workload includes: - Community Service - Various departmental activities that may include course development and evaluation - Mentoring adjunct faculty - Student outcome assessment 




Minimum Qualifications:
Faculty should possess a baccalaureate or associate degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline. In lieu of the associate degree, alternative qualifications such as related work experience in the field, professional licensure and certifications related to the teaching assignment, honors and awards, continuing professional development, documented excellence in teaching, and/or other demonstrated competencies and achievements that contribute to effective teaching and student learning outcomes will be considered. A minimum of five years current experience as an automotive technician is required.&nbsp;




Preferred Qualifications:
ASE Credentials in Automatic Transmission/Transaxle, Automobile Service Technology, Brakes, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Engine Performance &amp; Repair, Heating &amp; Air Conditioning, Maintenance &amp; Light Repair, Manual Drive Train &amp; Axles, and Suspension &amp; Steering preferred
