Shift Must be able to work four, 9-hour shifts per week; 8:30AM to 6P will also be required to work some weekend and holiday Job Summary Registered Nurses in the Pre-Op Unit at UK Good Samaritan Hospital provide care primarily to adult patients between 12-100 years of age. You will also cross train to work in the GSH PACU. Perioperative Services is comprised of the following areas: pre-operative holding; post anesthesia care (phase 2); and recovery and you will be trained to cross cover all areas. The number of patients that receive care on a daily basis can range from 20 up to 35. The primary responsibilities for this position consist of providing total, comprehensive, continuous and patient centered care which includes: assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistant); and adhering to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations.
