The Division of Business and Community Services at Holyoke Community College is seeking part-time instructors to teach in an innovative, intensive 5-month noncredit Medical Assistant training program for a local employer. Students will be paid employees taking 40 hours per week of classwork. Instructors will prepare students to take and pass the RMA exam. With assistance, instructors will develop curricula and plan course content, provide lectures and hands-on instruction, and evaluate training effectiveness so that students learn the specific skill sets and knowledge needed to obtain certification and to pursue a career as a Medical Assistant. &nbsp; The instructors will need to become familiar with current state and federal regulations and will have to keep accurate attendance, grade, and skills information. Job Summary
This part-time position will provide custodial and light maintenance services primarily to the Henderson Campus. Clean and disinfect interior and exterior buildings, interior classrooms, halls, restrooms, waxing and stripping floors, emptying trash, cleaning windows, etc. The applicant should have the ability to adapt to changing assignments quickly and manage multiple tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
 1. High school diploma or equivalent required 2. Courteous and pleasant demeanor with coworkers and public are required 3. Willing to work a flexible and varying schedule as needed 4. A valid driver’s license for the State of Tennessee 5. Established work history, reference and criminal background check will be required 6. GENERAL DUTIES:&nbsp;
The adjunct practical nursing instructor, under the direction of the Coordinator of Nursing along with the PN faculty, shall be responsible for assisting in planning, developing, initiating and teaching the approved instructional program for practical nursing students in both the classroom and clinical setting.&nbsp; In addition, the adjunct practical nursing instructor shall maintain appropriate program and student records for documentation and evaluation; provide individual evaluation of each student’s progress with counseling and appropriate recommendations when required; supervise students’ clinical experiences as scheduled; and maintain good public relations with clinical partners.&nbsp; &nbsp;The adjunct instructor will also assist with student placement and student follow-up; participate in recruitment of students; cooperate with outside agencies; work with program advisory committees; conduct visits to business and industry; and establish and maintain good public relations within the college’s service area.&nbsp; Some travel is required.
SALARY:&nbsp; $31.50 per hour/Commensurate with Tennessee College of Applied Technology salary guidelines.
