Job Title: Adjunct Instructor of Management
Campus Location:&nbsp;Morristown Campus (Employees are assigned to a “home” location but may occasionally or regularly be required to work at other WSCC locations.)
Job Purpose:&nbsp;To provide instruction in management and business courses.
Essential Job Functions:
<ul>
<li>Teach management and business courses. Courses are offered primarily for conventional in-person classes with potential for some Hybrid or Desktop Video Courses through Microsoft Teams, Zoom or other technology.</li>
<li>Prepare course syllabi and course materials, evaluate student learning, and maintain class records as defined.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Complete required training as assigned by the head instructor.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Perform job functions in accordance with the institution’s policies and procedures.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Manage curricula in accordance with all standards defined by applicable accredited bodies. This includes regular assessment of program competencies and changes to curricula based on assessments.</li>
<li>May perform other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Required Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Master Degree in business, management or related field from a regionally accredited institution. 
</li>
<li>Understanding and acceptance of the comprehensive community college philosophy. 
</li>
<li>Ability to communicate effectively and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, and staff. 
</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Teaching experience.

<li>Knowledge of course delivery through information technology methods.

      Adjunct Instructor of Management
    

Dyersburg State Community College invites applicants for Health Information Management adjunct instructors for day, evening, and online classes held in Dyersburg, Covington, Paris, or at one of our other off-campus centers. Initial assignment may be at one of our teaching locations, but the official work station assignment may change each semester. The successful applicant will become certified and fully use the course management system (eLearn) for all classes. The applicant will also attend required meetings, report attendance, early alert notifications, and final grades prior to the established deadline, and will communicate curriculum and personnel needs or changes as appropriate to their assigned chair/dean. This position reports to the Chair of Business &amp; Technology and the Dean of Arts, Sciences, &amp; Technologies.
Requirements of the Position
Duties and Responsibilities: Teach assigned courses for discipline in Covington, Dyersburg, and/or Paris; prepare course materials; evaluate student learning, maintain class records, and submit required reports on time.
Working Conditions: Sedentary: Desk work; occasional travel may be required for college or program activities. Insignificant effort other than normal movement. Minimal Hazard/Exposure: Standard office settings. At least minimal environment controls to assure health and comfort.
Required Qualifications:
Transfer courses: Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with 18 graduate semester hours in Health Information Management required.
Non-transfer courses: Bachelor’s degree with previous teaching experience or graduate work required.
Ability to communicate effective with students and other college personnel required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
