The Department of Pharmacology at Tulane University School of Medicine is currently recruiting for a research-track position at the level of Assistant Professor. Areas of preferred expertise include but are not limited to Vascular Biology, Metabolomics, and Neuroscience.&nbsp; This position is expected to maintain an independent research program in their area of expertise, get the laboratory up and running; hire experienced staff, and generate data towards publishing papers as a senior author; the position requires the writing of manuscripts, the submission of progress reports to funding agencies, and maintenance of laboratory records.&nbsp; In addition, the goal for this position is to acquire extramural sources and expand collaboration with departmental colleagues.&nbsp; The candidate will be involved in teaching graduate and medical students. This position is required to provide service to the department and university by serving on committees and&nbsp;in&nbsp;other&nbsp;capacities&nbsp;as&nbsp;needed.&nbsp; Additionally, it is expected, that the successful candidate will perform all functions related to their ongoing studies including supervising students and laboratory technicians.&nbsp;The requirements for this position include having either a Ph.D., M.D., D.M.D., D.O. degree, or equivalent;&nbsp;3-4 years of postdoctoral research experience; a distinguished record of scholarly activity, and the ability to participate in departmental teaching.&nbsp;Attention will be given to applicants whose areas of research complement and strengthen existing research areas within the Department and the wider School of Medicine.&nbsp;Preference will be given to applicants with NIH or existing external funding.

Job Summary:The Program in Computing for the Arts and Sciences (PCAS) in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan seeks applicants for a full-time Lecturer III position with anticipated start date of August 25, 2025. This is a non-tenure track position, with a University Year appointment period (i.e., runs September 1 through May 31 each year).&nbsp;A typical full-time (100% effort) load for a Lecturer III in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) is three (3) courses per semester, or the equivalent in administrative and/or service duties.&nbsp;The initial appointment period will be one (1) to four (4) years (depending on qualifications), and the appointment is renewable (based on programmatic need, funding, and performance). &nbsp;The appointment is subject to final approval by the College of Literature, Science and Arts.Responsibilities:Duties and responsibilities for this Lecturer III position are expected to include&nbsp;teaching four courses per year and significant administrative/service duties.&nbsp; Teaching will be on-site and in-person.&nbsp;&nbsp;In addition to instruction, the position includes&nbsp;significant administrative duties, including:<ul><li>Academic and career advising for students in PCAS minors;</li><li>Ongoing curriculum planning and development of new courses and revising courses to manage growth, service on program committees (cross-disciplinary coordinating committees, Curriculum, Leadership, etc).</li><li>Administrative oversight of peer advisors;&nbsp;</li></ul>About&nbsp;<a href="https://lsa.umich.edu/computingfor/program-overview.html" target="_blank">The Program in Computing for the Arts and Sciences (PCAS)</a>:PCAS is a novel program offering courses that support liberal arts undergraduates in developing computational knowledge skills. The goal of PCAS is that all College of LSA students should be confident in their ability to understand, design, and employ computational methods and digital tools both effectively and critically.Qualifications:&nbsp;Qualified candidates will have a doctorate degree in liberal arts, music, computing, or information prior to the start date of the position with extensive instructional background in interdisciplinary computing, and a range of instructional expertise not only in programming but also in courses related to computing, digital tools, and liberal arts. Regarding the latter, there must be a demonstrated ability to incorporate content that employs computational methods and digital tools both effectively and critically. In addition, there should be documentation of the ability to undertake the administrative duties that this position requires.
