Work Hours: The Reference Librarian provides evening and weekend reference desk coverage, scheduled 30 hours per week and will be assigned hours during the window of 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Monday – Thursday, and 10:00 am – 2:00 pm Saturdays.
Position Summary: The Reference Librarian participates in reference services, creating tutorials, library instruction, and other duties as assigned. The position reports to the Instruction Coordinator and Reference Librarian.
Duties and Responsibilities:
65% Provide individual reference service and group information literacy instruction, both in-person and online. Reference services are available in-person and via phone, email, text, chat, and appointment. In support of instruction services, collaborate with the Instruction Coordinator and Reference Librarian on various projects to support the library instruction program.
30% Participate in the ongoing development and maintenance of the library’s web services, including the LibGuides, FAQs, and online tutorials, using various applications, including LibApps, PowerPoint, Camtasia, Snagit, Zoom, and related software. Seek out and implement appropriate emerging technologies.
5% Maintain knowledge of current professional library practices, including reference interviewing and teaching practices. May be involved with collection development activities.

Required Qualifications:
MLS Degree from an ALA-accredited college or university. Knowledgeable in providing reference services to students, faculty, staff, and community members. Knowledgeable in use of current web authoring tools and standards. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of the library’s reference and instruction function, including knowledge of specialized searching skills and strategies, familiarity with the library’s print and electronic collections, and the ability to translate those resources effectively to students, faculty, staff, and other patrons in a variety of delivery modes, including in-person, virtual reference, via tutorials, in class, and graded course components.
Willingness and social skills necessary to work effectively with students, faculty, and other patrons of varying skill and interest levels.
Ability to provide highly detailed work.
Ability to design and deliver instruction in the use of library resources in individual and group settings and for placement on library website, in campus course management system, in forms of graded assignments, tutorials, and subject guides.
Proficiency with web and media design tools, software, and systems, including discovery search systems, LibApps, Microsoft Office, Camtasia, SnagIt, Zoom, Adobe Creative Suite, and HTML.
Willingness and ability to learn new software and instruct students, faculty, staff, and other patrons on use of software as needed. Ability to troubleshoot technology software and hardware.

Essential Functions:
55% Serve as the initial customer service contact for Student Services.

<li>Provide individual assistance to students including but not limited to analyzing and troubleshooting individual needs and assisting with on-line self-service accounts (view/change their personal information, apply for financial aid: FAFSA, state aid and scholarship applications, complete needed requirements).</li>
<li>Provide information to students, parents, staff, and general public regarding all enrollment and financial aid questions and/or requirements, including but not limited to MyPellissippi navigation, transcripts, payments, advising, testing, orientation, secure document upload, alerts and general information about the college and events in person, via telephone, email, US mail, and on-line using extensive knowledge of FERPA, College policy, State, and Federal Regulations.</li>
<li>Collect, scan, download and notate completed financial aid documents via various forms of electronic or non-electronic submission.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Work with each student holistically to create social belonging, build rapport and establish the Start Strong mentality to increase student success and retention</li>

5% Function as a critical link or liason between customers and PSCC by making referrals to student affairs, academic divisions, counselors, advisors, instructional staff and other PSCC staff members when needed.

The cashier’s office performs an audit one to two times per year and the deposit is monitored daily at the Hardin Valley Campus Business Office. If the cashier deposit is incorrect, it could affect the college’s financial status and potentially the student’s account.
Budgetary: Not directly responsible for the budget but does provide the campus dean input for needed supplies, materials, travel, and professional development needs.
Judgement &amp; Decisions: With the appropriate training, this position requires the employee to make independent decisions as much as possible without the campus dean’s approval. This position is able to add and remove holds based on information in the account. Documents are checked if needed and enrollment decisions based are made based on what the incumbent sees. The incumbent has the ability to provide overrides with appropriate documentation. Decisions are not necessarily reviewed, but there must be a diligence to ensure actions are in the best interest of the student(s) and the college.&nbsp;
Nature of Contacts: This position will have contact with the general public when they inquire about enrolling and with our current student population.&nbsp; This position must work with other departments on campus (Records, Financial Aid, Student Account Services, Advising, New Student Orientation/Student Success) on a regular basis.&nbsp; This position will also interact with academic departments regarding students or policies and procedures.&nbsp;
The majority of interactions with others involves providing essential information to current and prospective students, as well as, college visitors and community members. In order to distribute correct information, the incumbent communicates with other departments within the college on a regular basis.
Physical Demands: This position requires that an employee be able to stand and sit for lengths of 30 minutes or more. Employees must be able to stand up and sit down frequently as they are working with students. Employees should be able to bend, turn and lift up to 15 pounds. During peak times, June, July and August employees may be on their feet for the duration of their shift (7.5 hours) without much time to sit between students.&nbsp;
Hazards: Employees could develop wrist or hand issues from typing and using a computer. Employees could develop some lower back, neck and shoulder pain from constantly standing and sitting. Additionally, employees are standing on concrete a large part of their day so may develop foot, knee or back pain and swelling. Employees are working with large amounts of different people every day so may be at a higher risk of getting the common cold, flu or viruses.

 Position Summary: To provide quality instruction for student learning and to maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom. The major emphasis will be placed on teaching and evaluating students in the classroom and laboratories.
 Department: Liberal Arts
 Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi. 2. Supervising the study and learning activities of students assigned. 3. Submitting requests through the department head, program coordinator, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids. 4. Evaluating the academic progress of students. 5. Demonstrating knowledge of services, regulations, and procedures as defined in the Adjunct Faculty Handbook. 6. Submitting course grades and performing other administrative duties as required. 7. Scheduling two office hours. For extenuating circumstances in which office hours cannot be scheduled, the adjunct faculty member must submit a written plan to the Dean describing how students can access the instructor. Office hours are not paid during the summer session.
 Required Qualifications: Master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college/university with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the Art teaching field
