Job Summary
This position reports to the Director of Purchasing. In the absence of the Director of Purchasing, acts as an official contracting agent. Reviews all purchases to ensure procedures and policies have been followed. Assists in the management of the department which is responsible for the procurement of all goods and services and commodities.
Qualifications - Education
Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate degree required.
Qualified Purchasing Agent (QPA) certification required.
Qualifications - Experience
Minimum of four years’ public purchasing experience. Minimum of four years supervisory experience or equivalent. Finance experience a plus.
Qualifications - Skills
Knowledge of financial software with purchasing application.
Working knowledge of public purchasing laws.
Knowledge of budget development and administration.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent project management and critical thinking skills.
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
