The successful candidate will teach a combination of Mechatronics classes including introductory classes in electrical circuits, hydraulics/pneumatics, mechanical systems, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), as well as advanced classes in statics/dynamics, robotics, PLCs, and automated production technologies. Classes are taught both in daytime and evening classes at our Clinton Facility and at the Harriman Campus. Some classes may be located at area high schools. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mechatronics or similar Engineering field. An Associate degree in these fields in conjunction with relevant professional experience is also acceptable. Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills, the ability to work with students of all ages, and exhibit flexibility and collegiality. 
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience in manufacturing technology-related programs.
Teaching experience in post-secondary education programs.
Master’s degree in suitable engineering discipline.

Motlow State is located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle Tennessee and has four campuses that serve students from eleven counties.&nbsp; &nbsp;Motlow positions are contingent upon funding availability and budget approval.
General Function:&nbsp;
Provide high quality effective instruction in accordance with the catalog description and the approved course syllabus; Facilitate student learning, and perform evaluations of student learning for all assigned classes, using each course’s standard course outline as a guide.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in discipline or a qualifying field from a regionally accredited college or university or a Master’s degree in any field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in discipline or a qualifying field from a regionally accredited college or university by the application date.
Qualifying fields and courses include History.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in discipline or a qualifying field from a regionally accredited college or university or a Master’s degree in any field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in discipline or a qualifying field from a regionally accredited college or university by the application date. Three years of Community College teaching experience.&nbsp;
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Teach courses as assigned in accordance with the catalog description and the approved course syllabus; Teach dual enrollment classes at area high school as assigned; Travel to multiple campuses as assigned</li>
<li>Collaborate collegially with faculty, Department Lead, and curriculum chair about curricular and programmatic issues and needs</li>
<li>Collaborate collegially with faculty, administration and staff to support the students, strategic plan, goals and business operations of the college; Work collegially as part of both discipline-specific and multidisciplinary teams</li>
<li>Stay abreast of current developments in the teaching discipline including scholarship, creative research, disciplinary and interdisciplinary activities that focus on the boundaries of knowledge, community-based scholarship, creative activities, and the development of cutting-edge teaching approaches</li>
<li>Teach up to 12credit hours per semester as assigned</li>
<li>Maintain availability for meetings with students and colleagues as needed throughout the semester.</li>
<li>Respond promptly to the Dean’s requests</li>
<li>Submit all requested paperwork timely and completely</li>
<li>Perform all duties in accordance with both TBR and MSCC policies</li>
<li>Attend Adjunct Orientation</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
<ul>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community</li>
<li>Strong computer skills, to include college database (Banner) management, word processing, creating spreadsheets, e-mail, and the internet</li>
<li>Knowledge of confidentiality statutes and policies as they apply to FERPA</li>
<li>Ability to effectively communicate, both in writing and verbally, with students, fellow employees, college administrators, and other stakeholders</li>

      Adjunct History Faculty (Pool)
    

Title: Adjunct Instructor – Audio Production Engineering

 Position Summary: To provide quality instruction for student learning and to maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom. The major emphasis will be placed on teaching and evaluating students in the classroom and laboratories.
 Department: Engineering &amp; Media Technologies
 Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi. 2. Supervising the study and learning activities of students assigned. 3. Submitting requests through the department head, program coordinator, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids. 4. Evaluating the academic progress of students. 5. Demonstrating knowledge of services, regulations, and procedures as defined in the Adjunct Faculty Handbook. 6. Submitting course grades and performing other administrative duties as required. 7. Scheduling two office hours. For extenuating circumstances in which office hours cannot be scheduled, the adjunct faculty member must submit a written plan to the Dean describing how students can access the instructor. Office hours are not paid during the summer session.
 Required Qualifications: Associates’ degree or higher from a regionally accredited college/university in the teaching field or closely related field and three years’ work experience in the Audio Production Engineering field
