For limited number of non-transfer courses, a Bachelor's degree in a qualifying field with two or more of the following may be considered: documentation of professional certification (national, regional or state), documentation of professional employment, documentation of teaching excellence, documentation of research and publication, documentation of relevant additional coursework beyond Bachelor's degree equivalent to 18 graduate semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU's, military, vendor training, etc.

Title: Adjunct Instructor - Geography (Pool)
POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online and hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences. Utilize the College’s learning management system to provide course materials to students. Submit updated department syllabus prior to the first day of class. Regularly check College email account and department mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours, except on weekends. Complete all required reports, such as attendance, Early Alerts, student progress reports, grade submissions, and administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the deadlines. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the Registrar. Comply with all College and TBR policies and guidelines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree and 18 graduate hours in Geography

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of and/or experience with a variety of instructional delivery modes, including synchronous and asynchronous online teaching. Submit updated department syllabus prior to the first day of class. Regularly check College email account and department mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours, except on weekends. Complete all required reports, such as attendance, Early Alerts, student progress reports, grade submissions, and administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the deadlines. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the Registrar. Comply with all College and TBR policies and guidelines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in related field

Rate of Pay: $650.00 - $740.00 per credit hour

CLEVELAND STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE is accepting applications for the following position: Adjunct Faculty Pool -&nbsp;Science Labs (Astronomy, Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Physics)
Instructors provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment in the class. The major emphasis for instructors is on teaching and evaluating students in the course. Classes are taught in a variety of formats and at several different locations, as well as online. Instructors also communicate with students between classes and are responsible for several administrative duties such as reporting on academic activity and submitting final grades.
Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi and departmental guidelines.</li>
<li>Beginning and ending all classes as scheduled and covering all relevant learning outcomes for each course.</li>
<li>Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning, communicating with students weekly, and answering student emails in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Evaluating students using a variety of methods, informing each student of scores received on each assessment in a timely manner, and proper maintenance of student records.</li>
<li>Using Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and responding to student questions via Cleveland State email in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Meeting deadlines for all administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, acknowledging contracts, academic activity and assessment reports, and final grades.</li>
<li>Submitting requests through the department chair, program coordinator/director, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids.</li>
<li>May require the preparation of culture media, chemicals, reagents, and solutions.</li>
<li>May require set up of laboratories with required supplies, materials, and equipment such as media, cultures, and electronic and mechanical apparatus, as needed.</li>
<li>Operate laboratory equipment such as autoclave, sterilizing oven, dishwasher, balances, filtration appliances, pH meters, timers, vortex mixers, etc.</li>
</ul>

<li>Clean, sterilize, and store laboratory equipment.</li>
<li>Maintain appropriate office hours, and secure approval for any commitments which might affect employment.</li>
<li>Comply with Cleveland State Community College and Tennessee Board of Regents Guidelines and Policies.</li>
<li>Participate in periodic evaluations.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related Science field required.</li>
<li>Ability to use personal computers for word processing/ inventories/ OCR, etc., required.</li>
<li>Required to meet those standards now required or which in the future may be required by the Tennessee Board of Regents and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).</li>
