Job Summary
The Prison Education Program (PEP)/Transitions Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day implementation and management of College Jail/Prison Education Program inside of the Kentucky Department of Corrections facilities: Bell County Forestry Camp as well as supporting the county jail program on the technical campus (with bi-monthly check-ins). Anitcipated start date January 1, 2025. This position is grant funded for Spring 2025 and hard money afterwards.




Job Duties:
 Recruitment/Retention of PEP Students: work with Admissions/Recruitment team to coordinate recruitment events to ensure completion of FAFSA, SKCTC Application, and Registration forms (including mailing and data entry of student applications/registration forms working with faculty/deans). Assist with federal and state report requirements and maintain required financial and student record PEP Student College Support: Meets weekly/bi-weekly with all PEP students. Provides advocacy for students with faculty. Maintain regular interaction and engagement with PEP students and staff. Maintaining at least 3 days onsite at the Bell County Forestry Camp facility. Ensure all PEP students appear on rosters correctly. Provides tutoring support/connections, disability support with ADA office, and DOC IT staff for any technical issues. PEP Student Transition Support: Provide resources/support for PEP students to be released with re-entry program and regular follow-up check-ins after released for at least 6 months. Provides overall support for enrollment, transfer, career, and re-entry processes. Collaboration and Communication: Keeps all parties informed through intrusive communication (faculty of PEP courses, DOC/jail officials, PEP students, College personnel, and others) to ensure student support with any concerns, issues, or additional assistance in enrolled courses. Participate in all related PEP meetings. Assists the CAO with all applicable standards including MOAs, MOUs, faculty credentialling files, and off-site visits. Professional Development: Attend required Department of Corrections Training and facility training, all updated training as needed; attends college related training; and other specific training related to the position. Provide workshops about PEP to college population for greater understanding.

Postdoctoral Fellow (2 Positions) The University of Texas at El Paso College of Education is thrilled to announce a cluster hire of two (2) full-time Postdoctoral Fellows for the newly forming research cluster "RAISE - Research Academic-Work Integration in STEM Education." The vision of the RAISE research center is to be an international and national leader in academic-work integration research. We aim to (a) conduct field defining research to gain comprehensive knowledge of the challenges, opportunities, and implications of combining education with employment for our students at UTEP and other Hispanic Serving Institutes (HSIs) as a model for other universities, (b) investigate students' experiences in workplace learning, and (c) integrate labor data into workforce development planning. Assistant Professor in History The History Department at the University of Texas at El Paso invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of History focusing on 20th and 21st century Black History. We invite applications from scholars with a wide range of interests, including, but not limited to, subjects such medicine and public health, migration, Afro-Latino, gender and/or Black women's history, history of sexuality, political history, or intellectual history. Assistant Professor of Instruction/Lecturer/Site Coordinator for Miner Teacher Residency (MTR) The Site Coordinator plays a critical role in teacher preparation at UTEP. They are full-time clinical faculty members who are partially housed within partnering, PK-12 school districts/campuses. Site coordinators serve three major roles. They serve as (1) the liaison between the university and school district, (2) instructors for college courses and mentor teacher trainings, and (3) instructional coaches for their teacher candidates. Site Coordinators form part of a vibrant professional team supported by Lead Site Coordinators. This is a grant-funded position with a focus on Computer Science teacher preparation and is subject to availability of funds. The Assistant Director will conceptualize and oversee strategic communication efforts including development of a student communication plan and strategies to inform and meaningfully engage all graduate and professional students. Oversee the planning and implementation of graduate induction and transition programs including First Semester Graduate Experience and web-based orientation modules. Closely work with the Assistant Dean to plan, coordinate, and implement the annual GradExpo research symposium and the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition. In collaboration with the Assistant Dean for the Graduate School, collects, organizes and analyzes graduate student data to identify trends and risk factors, and oversees the implementation of intervention programs. Manage the student success helpdesk and promptly respond to students needs and questions and design effective ways to link students to helpful resources across campus. Provide supervision and mentorship to Student Success and Retention as well as Outreach and Recruitment Coordinators. Works with students of concern and serves as a case manager on the university's Student Behavior Intervention Team Complies with all State and University policies. Other duties may be assigned.
