Location: Calhoun, KY The Extension Agent for Family &amp; Consumer Sciences / 4-H Youth Development will provide leadership and management to the overall FCS and 4-H Youth Development program for McLean County. The agent will develop and implement a plan of work based on locally identified needs which will lead to improved quality of living for families, youth &amp; individuals. Will plan and implement educational programs which focus on: <ul><li>making healthy choices</li><li>nurturing families</li><li>embracing life as you age</li><li>securing financial stability</li><li>promoting healthy homes and communities</li><li>accessing nutritious food</li><li>empowering community leaders</li></ul> Will develop expertise and serve as a resource in family and consumer sciences programming areas, including: <ul><li>food and nutrition</li><li>family resource management</li><li>human development and family relations</li><li>health, safety and wellness</li><li>leadership development</li><li>clothing and textiles</li><li>housing and the environment</li><li>home based and micro business</li></ul> Will develop and implement leadership programs such as Kentucky Extension Homemakers and 4-H Leaders. Will work jointly with the other agent to implement a well-rounded 4-H program that develops youth through school and community-based programs. Will utilize and/or develop councils, advisory groups, and committees in programming. Will facilitate community programming around issues involving leadership development, community involvement, local government, community services and other forms of community economic development.
