Fosters a culture of respect, understanding, and collaboration by promoting a learning environment of inclusion, belonging and caring.&nbsp;<ul><li>Participate in College-wide, Department of Nursing and Clinical Practice Learning Environment orientations, working closely with a department mentor in the clinical onboarding processes.&nbsp;</li><li>Performs instructional-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner in accordance with the mission, policies, and procedures of the Holyoke Community College, Department of Nursing and Practice Learning Environment.&nbsp;</li><li>Meet and maintain faculty requirements upon hire and annually. To include, but not limited to, MA RN license in good standing; clearance of CORI/SORI check; drug screening; and fingerprinting; maintains health insurance; meets MA DPH Health requirements; completes a physical exam on hire; remains fit-for-duty; demonstrates evidence of professional development/scholarship, CPR certification; recommendation to carry liability insurance.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintain clinical expertise in the area of specialization and nursing education in evidence-based practices through ongoing professional development and fieldwork.&nbsp;</li><li>Participate as a team member to distribute and review the course syllabus,sim lab manual and/or clinical guidelines. The adjunct nursing faculty shall forward course materials to the DON no later than the end of the first (1st ) week of classes in each semester.&nbsp;</li><li>Be prompt and accurate in the recording and reporting of student data including course attendance, assessment of student performance in the clinical/sim lab evaluation tool, and reporting of plans for success, warnings or grades.&nbsp;</li><li>Facilitate active learning methods and instructional strategies for students designed to assist the learner in meeting the student learning outcomes of the course while promoting critical thinking and sound clinical judgment initiatives.&nbsp;</li><li>Assign, supervise, and plan practice experiences, and evaluation of up to ten (10) students in clinical/sim lab learning environments based on student learning outcomes.&nbsp;</li><li>Work effectively as a team member with the overall department and clinical practice environment, demonstrating positive interpersonal relations, communication, collaboration with the administration, other faculty and healthcare members to meet department and student needs.&nbsp;</li><li>Complete a clinical practice collaborative review at the beginning and end of each semester.&nbsp;</li><li>Instruct in various learning environments such as face to face on campus, in community practice areas, and simulation, remote briefing/debriefing and evaluations and virtual learning environments.&nbsp;</li><li>Model professional behaviors for student learners including and enhance nursing student success.&nbsp;</li><li>Promote working relationships with practice learning environments to enhance student learning experiences.&nbsp;</li><li>Assure students a safe learning environment and provide safe nursing care for all individuals or groups of individuals.&nbsp;</li><li>Follow created simulation laboratory learning experiences, to include high quality simulation, for student demonstration and evaluation of competent nursing skills based on student learning outcomes.&nbsp;</li><li>Be available to promote student success, incorporate retention strategies, and assist a group of diverse students in achieving learning goals.&nbsp;</li><li>Attend all scheduled clinical teaching experiences and/or simulation laboratory sessions and assigned curriculum meetings. Adjunct Faculty - Clinical/Laboratory Nursing Faculty

TRIO Student Support Services is a long established federally funded program designed to assist students who are first generation to college, have a financial need (low-income), and/or have a documented disability. &nbsp;The Academic Counselor of TRIO SSS will report to the TRIO SSS Program Director and will work collaboratively with other TRIO SSS staff and related support personnel at the College to perform the following responsibilities:<ul><li>Provides academic, career, retention and financial literacy counseling to a cohort of TRIO SSS students in the program.</li></ul><ul><li>Develops and provides Individual Student Academic plans, advising, and monitors&nbsp;students’ progress, utilizing grades, conferences, instructor feedback and other appropriate information for new and continuing TRIO SSS students.</li><li>Provides workshops for TRIO SSS students on financial aid, financial literacy, transfer to a four-year college, self-management and study strategies.</li><li>Works collaboratively with the Office for Students with Disabilities and Deaf Services (OSD/DS) to review appropriate documentation and develop accommodation plans for TRIO SSS students with disabilities.</li></ul><ul><li>Assists with the projects and activities of the TRIO SSS Ambassadors program.</li><li>Consults with faculty, Financial Aid Office, the Center for Academic Program Support (CAPS), and TRIO SSS staff, on behalf of program students.</li><li>Plans and facilitates TRIO SSS Program Day, monthly workshops, transfer trips, cultural and other activities for program participants.</li><li>Plans and provides outreach initiatives to students through class presentations, college events, collaborations with campus success programs and other initiatives as needed.
