This is a full-time academic-year (9-month) term appointment reporting to the department chair of Technologies. The Cisco Networking Academy Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality, hands-on instruction in networking and information technology courses as part of the Cisco Networking Academy program. The instructor will prepare students for Cisco certifications and provide them with essential knowledge and skills in networking, cybersecurity, and related technologies. The Assistant Professor or Instructor is responsible for performing assigned duties during the day, evening, or weekend on any Southwest Tennessee Community College campus as assigned. Job Duties

This is a full-time academic-year (9-month) term faculty position in the Mechatronics Technology program in the Technologies Department. The faculty member is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. The faculty member is responsible for performing assigned teaching duties during the day, evening, and occasionally on the weekends on any Southwest Tennessee Community College campus as assigned. This position will primarily be responsible for instruction for dual-enrollment courses offered at John Wilder Youth Development Center in Somerville, TN as well as other area high schools. As such, the position may require daily travel across Shelby and Fayette Counties. An instructor/assistant professor performs all other duties as directed by the Department Chair, Dean of Business and Technologies, or the President or designee.

<li>All full-time personnel, including faculty, shall be required to devote a minimum of 37.5 hours per week to their duties and shall maintain appropriate office hours as determined by the President.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Teach a minimum of 15 teaching load equivalents (TLE) each term per academic year via on ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced modalities as assigned. Teach evening, weekend, off-campus, and digital learning courses as required.</li>

This is a full-time, tenure track, Faculty position in the Technologies Department. The faculty member is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. The appointee is responsible for performing assigned teaching duties during the day, evening, or weekend on any Southwest Tennessee Community College campus. The faculty member must be knowledgeable and able to instruct in the following technical subject areas: aerodynamics, meteorology, aircraft systems, safety management systems, airline industry, flight operations management, human factors, and aircraft structures. The individual must be able to conduct flight training on the simulators. The faculty member must be familiar with using a Learning Management System for conducting face-to-face and online classes. The faculty member will be responsible for the coordinating, planning, preparing, presenting, and evaluating classroom instruction and related activities, including overseeing all compliance requirements of the FAR Part 141 standards. The faculty member will also manage agreements with flight training providers with the goal of increasing student completions in the pilot program.

This is a full-time, fiscal year position working under direct supervision of the Police Supervisor (Captain) and general supervision of the Associate Director of Public Safety.
The Police Officer 1 investigates crimes and accidents, protecting faculty, staff, students, visitors, and property, facilities by law enforcement. Job Duties

<li>Assures building security, traffic control, parking lot management, and patrol readiness for crime and hazards.</li>

Minimum Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Meets the requirements of a Certified Police Officer, per TCA 38-8-107, including completion or attendance and completion within one year following employment, of a law enforcement academy curriculum approved by the Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission (P.O.S.T). 
</li>
<li>Meets the requirements of TCA 38-8-106, Qualifications of Police Officers: 
<ul>
<li>Be at least eighteen (18) years of age 
</li>
<li>High school graduate or possess equivalency 
</li>
<li>Not have been convicted of ANY felonies 
</li>
<li>Not have been released/discharged under any other circumstance than honorable discharge from any of the armed forces of the United States

<li>Have their fingerprints on file with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation

<li>Must have passed a physical examination by a licensed physician

<li>Must have passed police academy requirement, and psychological examinations

Title: Student Help: STARS Tutor

Job Summary
The Student Help STARS Tutor is a Grant Funded, part-time, temporary position for current Southwest Tennessee Community College Students and will tutor K-3 grade students in reading. Every tutor must relate well to children, possess good oral communication skills, and perform related tasks as assigned. The Southwest STARS (Saluqi Tutors Achieving Reading Success) Program is a reading tutoring program led by Southwest Tennessee Community College in partnership with local educational agencies, specifically Libertas School of Memphis, Promise Academy, and Capstone Education Group. Recent legislative changes will impact potential fourth grade level retention based on a student’s third grade English Language Arts (ELA) TCAP scores. As a result, this grant will provide key early interventions to move students from scoring Below or Approaching grade level to Met or Exceeded. Each student should be tutored for two hours per week for 18 weeks and totaling 36 hours of tutoring instruction. At the end of the tutoring semester, students should be able to score a proficiency in their reading test.
Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Tutor assists elementary aged children in the development of reading skills.</li>
<li>Tutor students in one-on-one or small group sessions.</li>
<li>Tutor will collaborate with the program coordinator to assess the student’s needs and how best to address them.</li>
<li>Tutor is required to complete competency training prior to work starting as a tutor.</li>
<li>Tutor must provide his/her own transportation.</li>
<li>Unexcused and excessive absences or unsatisfactory performances will be grounds for dismissal.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Received a degree from regionally accredited institution of higher learning OR
</li>
<li>Matriculated student seeking a degree in an area of education (or related fields) OR
</li>
<li>Matriculated student who has received an A or B in English Composition course(s) OR

Compensation and Hours
Each applicant must be able to commit to working a minimum of 4 hours over 2 days per week, going up to 16 hours over 4 days per week, serving up to 3 students&nbsp;per hour and up to 24 students per semester. The hours for tutoring are flexible but should occur in the morning, early afternoon, or after school.
Each hour will be spent with the students, though a small part of each hour is devoted to preparing, wrapping up, and record keeping. Tutoring will take place in either a Southwest Tennessee Community College campus/center or one of the partner schools. Tutors must arrange their work schedules with the tutoring program coordinator.
Tutoring wages are $28 per hour.

This is a part-time student position funded by Title III IDEAS Grant. Peer mentors/coaches are integrated into advising center or other campus offices, to assist professional advisors or student success coaches and faculty/staff with supporting students at Southwest. Mentors might handle referrals to campus resources, study skills coaching, or pre-registration education, which frees up professional coaches and advisors to focus on complex advising cases. Peer mentors may be “on call” for a set number of hours each week, to handle referred and walk-in students. Or, programs may require peer mentors to hold several meetings each term with students, either one-on-one or in groups.
