POSITION SUMMARY The Manager, Ready to Reconnect program at Nashville State Community College is dedicated to bridging the gap between education and employment by providing students/jobseekers pathways to jobs in Middle Tennessee.
The Manager is responsible for leading, designing and implementing the Ready to Reconnect program. This includes developing and coordinating workforce certification programs, recruiting, tracking and assisting students by providing holistic services from pre-enrollment through completion and post-completion follow-up. The Manage will work closely with community and institutional stakeholders to design work force certifications that meet the needs of students, employees and employers. This is a grant-funded position through June 30, 2026.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the strategic planning and development of the Ready to Reconnect program. Manage the project’s overarching goals and deliverables, anticipate potential challenges to ensure on-schedule fulfillment of tasks and projects, and monitor program effectiveness. Support equitable participation and achievement in high-quality pathways that lead to high-demand, high wage careers. Participate in recruitment events on and off campus, such as high school fairs, college fairs, campus tours, open houses and other community events. This includes attending evening and weekend events as needed. Provide strategic leadership and oversight for staff assigned to support these projects.
Supervise grant personnel, which may include both adjunct faculty and staff. Prepare interim and annual performance reports. Develop a comprehensive plan for assessing participant progress and program effectiveness. Oversee assigned grant and project budgets and resources to ensure compliance and strategic use of resources. Accurately monitor all expenditures over the course of the grant in coordination with the finance department and department lead. Title: Recruiter/Completion Advisor, Ready to Reconnect Program (Grant-funded)
POSITION SUMMARY The Recruiter/Completion Advisor is responsible for recruiting, tracking and assisting students by providing holistic services from pre-enrollment to completion by connecting students to internal and external resources, wraparound services and high-touch advising to help students achieve persistence and success. The main emphasis of this position is to build relationships with prospective Nashville State Community College students and to assist and advise them through the enrollment process, including career advising. This is a grant-funded position through June 30, 2026.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide student-centered services and advising to prospective students regarding the college, academic and workforce course offerings, career choice, admission procedures and financial aid options. This includes assisting applicants through the application, career development, and financial aid processes. Review student progress and track student use of services to support post-secondary success. Work closely with students to identify potential roadblocks and connect students to supports and resources to help students better achieve academic progress, persistence and completion. Maintain accurate tracking data and notes for each assigned student, recommending appropriate referrals and opportunity programs.

The purpose of this position is to enter all changes to employee payroll records, process payroll and payroll related reports, and help maintain payroll/personnel files.

POSITION SUMMARY The manager of professional learning and development is responsible for designing, developing and planning the delivery of comprehensive, dynamic and responsive professional learning and development programs at Nashville State Community College.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Through collaboration with key stakeholders, design and implement comprehensive learning and development programming that aligns with the College’s goals and objectives and supports professional development and continuous learning across all levels of the organization. This may include single instance, short-term, long-term and recurring programming. Design and deliver a Nashville State branded mission orientation course that covers the College’s history, Vision 2030, core values and other key initiatives and information. Devise and facilitate a comprehensive new hire on-boarding program that promotes employee engagement and conduct periodic check-ins with new hires regarding their onboarding and employment experience.
Create and implement a supervisor learning academy for new and existing supervisors. Regularly collaborate with supervisors to assess individual department training needs. Perform knowledge and skills gap analysis to identify current and future learning and development needs and opportunities. Assist supervisors with developing strategies for learning and development to support effective succession planning. Establish metrics and evaluation methods to assess effectiveness of programs and analyze training data and feedback to make data-informed recommendations for continuous improvement College-wide.
Work in partnership with the College’s Teaching Center to offer cross-organizational learning and development opportunities to maximize resources. Cultivate a network of external training providers to support learning and development initiatives. Stay abreast of emerging trends in professional training/learning, including delivery methods, topics, software, etc. Plan, schedule and maintain the College’s professional learning calendar. Title: Accounting Associate
POSITION SUMMARY The accounting associate performs a variety of accounting duties in support of the daily operations in the Office of Student Accounts and Billing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepares daily cashier reports, enters cash receipts for approval, performs data entry and processes student accounts transactions. Tracks payment plan accounts for past due balances. Oversees collections of delinquent accounts and prepares and processes write-offs of uncollectable accounts. Processes third party contract payments. Reconciles accounts on a monthly and annual basis. Processes fee waivers.
Prepares and reviews financial and other reports. Assists office administrators with various tasks and special projects. Scans departmental records to the document management system. Accepts payments, answers the phone and responds to emails. Tests system updates/upgrades. Cross-trains in other office tasks to facilitate general knowledge of overall office operations. Performs other duties as assigned.

Title: Veteran Affairs Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY Administers the College’s Veteran Affairs programs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Serves and supports veteran students and dependents using military educational and other benefits. Evaluates students’ eligibility for benefits, advises students on potential programs for which they may qualify and provides guidance on maintaining benefits. Ensures students are informed about current VA rules, regulations regarding educational benefits and the monthly housing allowance (MHA).
Serves as the College’s School Certifying Official (SCO). Submits benefit certifications and maintains enrollment changes via VA-Once web-based software. Certifies and processes State and Federal tuition assistance for military connected students, including Tennessee Strong, Military Transition Grant, MyCAA and ArmyIgnited. Acts as a liaison between the College and state/federal agencies to facilitate the institution’s veteran affairs program.
Regularly audits records to ensure compliance with Department of Veterans Affairs rules and regulations. Prepares and submits various reports to institutional, state and federal agencies. Attends recruiting events both on and off campus to promote the College’s VA programs and benefits to students. Raises faculty and staff awareness concerning veteran students and VA programs at the College and provides training as needed. Organizes campus activities for veterans and assists with the College’s graduation ceremony.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Associate’s degree.
One year of experience working in a veteran affairs, records, admissions or similar student support office in an institution of higher education. Status as a veteran of the armed forces is considered equivalent experience.
Ability to obtain SCO certification within one (1) year of employment.

Title: Senior Administrative Associate
POSITION SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Senior Administrative Associate performs a variety of administrative and clerical functions in the human resources department to meet compliance requirements and internal/external deadlines and to support the strategic goals of the department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Greets visitors, screens/routes calls, processes department mail and responds to general inquiries related to the College’s applicant tracking system (ATS), job postings and application process. Works closely with the HR Administrator, Recruiting and Compensation to ensure all pre-employment tasks and documentation are complete, including sending/receiving new hire documents via DocuSign. Creates and maintains all physical personnel files. Ensures filing is completed timely and file rooms are organized. Enters, updates and maintains personnel data in the College’s HRIS/Banner system in accordance with department procedures, including assigning employee ID numbers, creating new employee profiles and updating records with status changes and terminations as appropriate.
Completes I-9 verifications for new employees, including scheduling and tracking off-site verifications as needed, and maintains/audits I-9 records in accordance with federal guidelines and systems records retention policies and guidelines. Executes State new hire reporting. Assists with annual temporary personnel and faculty contract renewal processes. Updates the College’s organizational chart and catalog. Initiates and processes purchasing and travel requisitions for the department, including ordering and maintaining an inventory of office supplies. Responds to non-financial requests for employment verification, as well as Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) requests. Prepares routine correspondence, generates reports, maintains office calendar and performs other clerical tasks as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Purpose: 
The Senior Desktop Support Technician will provide technical support for personal computers on each campus including hardware repair, software installations and upgrades, printers and user support and assistance.&nbsp; This position will also ensure that equipment replacement schedules are followed, and lab, classroom and employee computers are kept up to date according to established refresh procedures.
