Title: Police Sergeant
POSITION SUMMARY Under general supervision, performs all duties of a Police Officer, enforcing applicable laws, ordinances, policies and procedures keeping the Campus, Faculty, Staff, and Students safe and secure. Is the second in command in the absence of the Chief. Has a primary additional duty of assisting with the planning, organizing, coordinating and directing of departmental training programs across multiple college campuses.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Is responsible for the protection of life and property of the general public within the jurisdiction of the Nashville State Police Department. In conjunction with the Chief of Police, is responsible for all training and training programs in the department. Serves as the departments Field Training Officer maintaining all required records, policies and information. Develop and implements Clery Act-required training programs and education activities for the institution, including identification and training of all Campus Security Authorities for each academic year. Serve as the records custodian for all Clery Act-associated records. Coordinate preparation and timely distribution of the institution's Annual Security and Fire Safety Report, including dissemination to current and prospective students and employees.
Leads training activities and in-service presentations for Police Officers, Security Officers and the campus population. Responsible for reviewing reports and assisting with submitting monthly reports to the TBI for mandatory TIBRS records. Responds and takes the lead in atypical situations and emergencies, until relived by higher authority. Assists with training activities and in-service presentations for other Police Officers, Security Guards and the campus population. Observes and reports suspected crimes, accidents, or activities of a questionable/suspicious nature. Discourages unlawful activities. Work with Chief of Police to plan, organize and implement security for campus functions, special events, crisis management, and disaster planning. Reports incidents involving persons or property, reporting probably cause of accidents, pursuing appropriate course of action and informing proper authorities as required. Cooperates with other law enforcement officials and jurisdictions and testifies in court or legal proceedings as required.
Operates and maintains safety and security department equipment. Keeps records and makes reports. Make recommendations to the Chief of Police on the development and implementation of comprehensive security programs, policies, and procedures. Serve as liaison with Contract Security Company/Security Officers. Provide guidance in coordination with Chief of Police for the Contract Security Officers. Respond to requests for assistance from students, faculty, and staff (i.e., jump starting cars, unlocking doors, giving directions, etc.) Maintain all training to ensure POST certification at all times. Assists with the maintenance and use of departmental equipment and helps to direct a program for vehicle maintenance and mileage reports. Performs other work as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma
Three (3) years of relevant law enforcement experience.
Possess a valid Tennessee driver’s license. Out of state applicants must obtain a Tennessee driver’s license within thirty (30) days of hire.
Current certification by the Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Commission, per TCA 38-8-107, or the ability to become P.O.S.T. certified within six (6) months of hire.
Must pass a medical examination, drug screen and a psychological evaluation.

POSITION SUMMARY The Manager, Ready to Reconnect program at Nashville State Community College is dedicated to bridging the gap between education and employment by providing students/jobseekers pathways to jobs in Middle Tennessee.
The Manager is responsible for leading, designing and implementing the Ready to Reconnect program. This includes developing and coordinating workforce certification programs, recruiting, tracking and assisting students by providing holistic services from pre-enrollment through completion and post-completion follow-up. The Manage will work closely with community and institutional stakeholders to design work force certifications that meet the needs of students, employees and employers. This is a grant-funded position through June 30, 2026.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the strategic planning and development of the Ready to Reconnect program. Manage the project’s overarching goals and deliverables, anticipate potential challenges to ensure on-schedule fulfillment of tasks and projects, and monitor program effectiveness. Support equitable participation and achievement in high-quality pathways that lead to high-demand, high wage careers. Participate in recruitment events on and off campus, such as high school fairs, college fairs, campus tours, open houses and other community events. Title: Recruiter/Completion Advisor, Ready to Reconnect Program (Grant-funded)
POSITION SUMMARY The Recruiter/Completion Advisor is responsible for recruiting, tracking and assisting students by providing holistic services from pre-enrollment to completion by connecting students to internal and external resources, wraparound services and high-touch advising to help students achieve persistence and success. The main emphasis of this position is to build relationships with prospective Nashville State Community College students and to assist and advise them through the enrollment process, including career advising. This is a grant-funded position through June 30, 2026.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide student-centered services and advising to prospective students regarding the college, academic and workforce course offerings, career choice, admission procedures and financial aid options. This includes assisting applicants through the application, career development, and financial aid processes. Review student progress and track student use of services to support post-secondary success. Work closely with students to identify potential roadblocks and connect students to supports and resources to help students better achieve academic progress, persistence and completion. Maintain accurate tracking data and notes for each assigned student, recommending appropriate referrals and opportunity programs.
Support equitable participation and achievement in high-quality pathways that lead to high-demand, high wage careers. Participate in recruitment events on and off campus, such as high school fairs, college fairs, campus tours, open houses and other community events. This includes attending evening and weekend events as needed. Create and conduct training sessions/workshops for students that support success both inside and outside of the classroom. Assist in planning, implementing and evaluating creative approaches to increase awareness about Nashville State to prospective student audiences that lead to increased enrollment and completion. Utilize an SIS student records system and be able to function within a computerized office environment. Perform other duties as assigned.

Title: Network Engineer

Job Summary:
Assist the Manager of Network/Telecommunications Infrastructure with recommending, planning, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring policies, hardware and configurations for the college’s information network and related equipment.
Job Duties:
Responsible for implementing recommended policies for network use and security. Configures and installs various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls.). Performs network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations. Identifies and resolves network issues. Maintains and completes documentation of all network resources including wiring diagrams. Assist with managing the campus firewall. Assist with vendor oversight for network related projects. Researches and develops recommendations for the application and implementation of emerging technologies related to the institution’s networks. Collaborates with other technical support personnel and network management personnel from non-college networks. Installs and maintains network equipment. Assists the Manager of Network/Telecommunications Infrastructure with telecommunications duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned.&nbsp;
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of industry specific experience OR Associate’s Degree and 5 years of industry specific experience. Minimum experience to include managing local and wide area computer networks, firewalls, and wireless LAN solutions. 
Preferred Qualifications:
Successful completion of either a Cisco or network related certificate program. Experience maintaining an enterprise firewall solution. Experience with Cisco WebEx Calling and Unified Communications. 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge and ability in all aspects of managing local and wide area networks including wireless networks, VPN site to site and remote VPN access, this experience also must include all layers of the OSI Reference model. Hold expert knowledge of protocols utilized in the college’s network such as TCP/IP, DHCP, TFTP, STP, VTP, OSPF, and SNMP. General knowledge and ability to implement protocols and practices necessary to maintain the security of the college’s information infrastructure via the network. Network trouble isolation and resolution skills utilizing common network tools and applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Available for on call support for after-hours network problems that affect the ability to access to 24x7 applications. Available for network reconfigurations after hours or weekends to minimize impact on the college’s activities during peak traffic times. Knowledge and ability in implementing and maintaining physical access control systems, as well as video surveillance systems. 
Pay Rate: $62,385 - $77,981 annual salary depending on experience
